Beginning with understanding, bringing support closer.

Hi everyone! I’m Sherry, one of the founders of Starlight Path.

I have been part of Starlight Path since I was eight. I am autistic myself, and growing up with it has shown me more and more how much understanding, acceptance, and support matter to autistic people and their families. I want to turn my own experience into a small source of strength: to help more people understand autism, reduce misunderstandings, and help those who need it find resources and support they can rely on.

Over the years, together with volunteers, parents, and community partners, we have shared knowledge about autism, run events, and created more opportunities for autistic people to express themselves, share their experiences, and connect with others. Starlight Path began with ten people and has grown into a community of 300 active volunteers, supporting hundreds of families. I believe everyone has their own thoughts, feelings, and ways of expressing themselves, and that every voice deserves to be listened to.

Later, I left Shenzhen to study at UWC Pearson College in Canada. I’m in a new place now, but Starlight Path is still a big part of who I am. I hope to bring Starlight Path to Canada, so that autistic people and families here can also find understanding and support.

To me, Starlight Path is more than a charity project. It is a community where people understand and support one another. I hope that one day autistic people won’t have to hide their differences in order to be understood, that everyone can grow at their own pace, speak up with courage, and find a place of their own.
