DIFFERENT WAYS TO COMMUNICATE

Different Ways to Communicate

不同的表达方式 · 真实经验与沟通

Communication looks different for everyone.

Some people communicate through speech. Others use pictures, gestures, writing, sign language, or communication devices. Some use a combination of different methods, depending on the situation or how they feel that day.

There is no single right way to communicate. Being able to speak does not always mean someone has everything they want to say, and not speaking does not mean someone has nothing to say.

At Starlight Path, we believe that understanding begins with listening, being patient, and making room for different ways of expressing ourselves. This space brings together personal experiences, practical ideas, and perspectives from autistic people and the people who support them.

Listening Is Part of Communication

Communication is not only about finding the right words. It is also about giving people time, respecting their choices, and being open to ways of expressing ourselves that may be different from our own.

You do not have to communicate like everyone else to deserve to be heard.

At Starlight Path, we hope to make more room for different voices, different experiences, and different ways of connecting.
